§ 6-40. Sterilization.

Latest version.
  • A dog or cat shall be presumed to be unspayed or unneutered unless the licensing authority is shown a certification by a licensed veterinarian that the animal is permanently sterilized. The sum as described in the Master Fee Schedule from the fee shall be held in trust for the owner of an unspayed or unneutered dog or cat. This trust shall be refunded at any time during the six month period after the fee is paid by showing the licensing authority a certification by a licensed veterinarian that said animal is permanently sterilized. If not claimed during the six month period, said trust shall become the property of the licensing authority. After the expiration of the six month period, any claim that the animal has died or has become lost or stolen shall not in itself be cause to refund the trust.
