§ 6-41. Vaccination.

Latest version.
  • Owners of dogs and cats shall pay a fee as described in the Master Fee Schedule to be held in trust by the licensing authority for the owner, if the animal is not vaccinated for rabies due to age or other reasons verified by a licensed veterinarian. Such fee shall be refunded at any time before said animal reaches the age of one year, upon showing proof of rabies vaccination to the licensing authority. If the fee is not reclaimed by the owner within nine months after it was placed in trust with the licensing authority, the fee shall become the property of the licensing authority. After the expiration of the nine month period, any claim that the animal has died or has become lost or stolen shall not in itself be cause to refund the trust.
