§ 27-196.1. Amendments and changes to International Mechanical Code, 2009 Edition.

  • (a)

    The International Mechanical Code, 2009 Edition, is amended and changed in the following respects:

    (1)

    Delete chapter 1 Administration, in its entirety.

    (2)

    Section 403.3.1, System operation. Add the following sentence:

    The minimum flow rate of outdoor air that the ventilation system must be capable of supplying during its operation shall be permitted to be based on the rate per person indicated in table 403.3 and the actual number of occupants present. The ventilation system may include dynamic reset as prescribed by ASHRAE Standard 62.1-2004 in section 6.2.7, subsection 1, whereas (Vot) is determined from table 403.3. The ventilation system shall operate during occupied hours with a minimum rate from the expected reduced occupant load.

    (3)

    Section 405.1 System control. Add the following sentence:

    Mechanical ventilation systems shall be provided with manual or automatic controls that will operate such systems whenever the spaces are occupied. Air conditioning systems that supply required ventilation air shall be provided with controls designed to automatically maintain the required outdoor air supply rate during occupancy. The owner shall maintain the responsibility to calibrate sensor devices at a minimum of bi-annually to allow for proper system operation.
