§ 18-136. Penalty.

  • Any person who violates the provisions of this article shall be subject to having his or her vehicle towed or having placed on his or her vehicle a parking ticket by any police officer or code enforcement officer. Said parking ticket shall be for the sum of $50.00 and the owner or operator of any such vehicle shall, within seventy-two hours, pay the same to the office of the city treasurer to be deposited in the city's general fund. If said ticket is not paid within said seventy-two hour period, the parking violation shall constitute an offense, and the owner or operator of said vehicle shall upon conviction thereof be subject to a fine of $50.00. If the identity of the operator of a motor vehicle cannot be determined, the owner or person in whose name such vehicle is registered shall be held prima facie responsible for such infraction.
